Former Inter and Lazio goalkeeper Tommaso Berni feels that Simone Inzaghi will be vindicated as Inter coach come the end of the current season.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, via FCInter1908, the former keeper expressed confidence in the current Nerazzurri coach.

Inzaghi came under significant criticism, and even speculation about the viability of his future at Inter, over the first few weeks of the current campaign due to erratic results of the team.

This criticism has quieted down over October and November as the results have improved, but the sense has still been that the Nerazzurri coach has not fully won over many of his critics.

However, this was also the case last season, and in that case the former Lazio coach did end the season in broadly positive fashion even if the Nerazzurri were unable to win the Serie A title.

In the view of Berni, Inzaghi will once again prove himself and leave Inter fans happy with the job he has done this season as well.

Comparing Inzaghi to his predecessor Conte, Berni said that “They’re certainly two different coaches who have different approaches, two different ways of seeing football.”

He continued that “Inzaghi did very well last season, he brought some big trophies to the team, and I’m convinced that Inter fans will be happy with him at the end of this season as well.”
