Italian journalist Franco Vanni believes that Inter wingback Robin Gosens should try to leave the Nerazzurri so that he can find more playing time elsewhere.

Speaking to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, Vanni also gave the view that the German would be an easier player for the Nerazzurri to lose than his opposite number on the right flank Denzel Dumfries.

Gosens had been expected to make the left flank at Inter his own when he joined from Atalanta.

However, injuries and inconsistent form have meant that the 28-year-old has never been able to really nail down a spot for himself ahead of either Ivan Perisic or Federico Dimarco.

This does not mean that Gosens does not have quality, however, as he has certainly demonstrated playing for La Dea as well as for the German national team in the past.

Accordingly, it could well be the case that the 28-year-old seeks a move away in the near future to get his career back on track.

“As far as Gosens, it’s a shame to see someone with so much quality used so sparingly,” Vanni said.

And when asked about the possibility of Inter selling Dumfries, Vanni said that “It would hurt them more, for sure.”

“Gosens has been benched by a Dimarco who’s in great form, whereas Dumfries is still very important for Inter.”
