Young Inter goalkeeper Filip Stankovic is definitely considered to have a future at Inter, though he is unlikely to be the backup to Andre Onana next season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInter1908, who report that the 20-year-old is progressing well enough on loan at Volendam that the Nerazzurri have faith in him, but would not be trusted to replace Samir Handanovic next season.

Stankovic has continued to impress on loan with Volendam this season in the Eredivisie, having helped the Dutch side to get promoted from the Eerste Divisie last time around.

The young Serb is therefore one possible candidate to be recalled to the first team as a replacement for Handanovic as a backup to first-choice keeper Onana should the captain not extend his contract at the end of the current campaign.

However, according to the Gazzetta, Stankovic is not yet considered to be a realistic option in this sense by the club.
