Inter are looking to raise funds to sign Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram, and may have found a solution by selling Denzel Dumfries to Chelsea, before loaning him back.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta is being tasked with securing France international Thuram, whilst also balancing the books to bring in funds by offloading players to fund the move.

Inter are looking to cut costs and reduce expenses, but are hoping to sign Thuram in January to avoid a battle against other interested clubs when his Gladbach contract expires at the end of the season.

Wingback Dumfries has drawn interest from Premier League club Chelsea and Inter may seek to take advantage of his by selling the Netherlands international, but insisting on the Blues sending him back on loan until the summer.

It would be a similar deal to that which saw Udinese’s Destiny Udogie joined Tottenham Hotspur before immediately returning to the Serie A club.
