Inter are facing the prospect of fighting off interest from Chelsea in right wingback Denzel Dumfries in the January transfer window.

According to editor Niccolo Ceccarini, the Premier League club are keen admirers of the Netherlands international and were ready to make a move for him at the end of the season, as new coach Graham Potter looks to shape his squad.

However, Chelsea may now be ready to move their plans forward and try to prise the former PSV Eindhoven player away from Inter and to Stamford Bridge in January, rather than waiting until the summer.

Whilst Inter would demand a high transfer fee for Dumfries, it is thought that Chelsea have the financial muscle to persuade the Nerazzurri to sell mid-season, particularly as it would allow the Serie A club to make signings of their own.

Losing Dumfries would leave Inter with just Matteo Darmian and Raoul Bellanova as senior options on the right, and Inter may be forced to look into alternatives.
