Inter remain extremely keen on signing teenage Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini and are working on a method of meeting La Dea’s demands for him.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Nerazzurri are set to switch their focus in the transfer window on securing young Italian talent, and 18-year-old Scalvini high on their list of targets.

Having enjoyed great success in signing Alessandro Bastoni from the Orobici before he had established himself, Inter CEO Beppe Marotta hopes to pull off another coup by buying a potential star for the future before he has fully broken through.

However, the Biscione are facing a significant stumbling block due to Atalanta’s asking price for Scalvini, with the Bergamo club demanding at least €40 million for him.

Whilst Bastoni cost €31m, he had less first team exposure than Scalvini, with the Italian international already on 32 appearances in Serie A.

Marotta is now tasked with working out a way of putting together a package that would tempt Atalanta, but for the time being the price is making a switch difficult for Inter.
