Inter are set to contact Ligue 1 club Rennes about the possibility of signing wingback Adrien Truffert this week.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 22-year-old is one of the Nerazzurri’s main targets to replace Robin Gosens and that they could ask for him on an initial loan containing a purchase option.

Inter are ramping up their search for a left-wingback to sign in the event that Gosens leaves the club, possibly as early as during the January transfer window.

Bayer Leverkusen’s Mitchel Bakker had been linked particularly considering he could be part of a cash-plus-player swap for Gosens, whilst Empoli’s Fabiano Parisi is another target.

However, the Bakker player is not in favour at Inter, and Parisi would cost around €25 million.

Truffert is seen as having the right profile to replace Gosens like-for-like if the German is on his way.

Moreover, the Frenchman is valued at around €15 million, and could potentially be signed on an initial loan deal.

The Nerazzurri are ready to make their initial contact with Truffert’s club Rennes around Wednesday, according to the Gazzetta.
