Inter are set to extend striker Edin Dzeko’s contract by one season if he is to agree to a reduction of his current wages at the club.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the Nerazzurri will agree a new deal with the 36-year-old provided he is willing to accept wages of around €3 million net per season on the contract.

Dzeko’s current contract with Inter is set to run out at the end of June 2023.

However, the Bosnian has proven this season that he can continue to contribute at a high level, and so he is still a part of the plans for at least another season.

The former Roma, Manchester City, and Wolfsburg striker currently earns a net of €5.5 million per season with Inter, and will not be offered an extension at these same wages.

However, if Dzkeo accepts a reduction to around €3 million net per season then his deal will be extended.
