Monza are considering offering a contract to former Inter midfielder Radja Nainggolan, but may also move for current Nerazzurri player Roberto Gagliardini.

According to FCInterNews.it, the Serie A newcomers are searching for a central midfielder in the January transfer window after losing Stefano Sensi to a serious injury, just months after bringing him in on loan from Inter.

Nainggolan is set to have his contract at Belgian club Royal Antwerp terminated in January following a disciplinary breach and would be available on a free transfer, but Monza’s resources are limited and this could prove problematic in their pursuit of the ex-Roma man.

Instead, they may push for Gagliardini, with the 28-year-old approaching the final months of his contract and Inter keen to cash in on him to avoid losing him for free in the summer.

Nainggolan joined Inter from Roma in 2018 and made 41 appearances for the Nerazzurri before being released in 2021 to return to his native Belgium and Antwerp.
