Inter striker Lautaro Martinez is set to start for the Argentine national team in tomorrow’s World Cup group stage match against Poland despite having a knock to his ankle.

This according to Argentine broadcaster TyC Sports, via FCInterNews, who reported yesterday evening that the Nerazzurri striker will once again start alongside Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria in attack for the Albiceleste in their third and final group stage match.

Argentine got their World Cup back on track by beating Mexico 2-0 on Saturday, putting their shock loss to Saudi Arabia in their group stage opener behind themselves and giving themselves a platform to reach the knockout rounds.

However, the Albiceleste are far from out of the woods, and will need a result against Poland if they are to make sure that they reach the round of sixteen of the competition.

Inter striker Martinez remains an important figure in attack for Argentina despite having failed to find the back of the net so far this tournament.

The 25-year-old is currently carrying a knock, but according to TyC Sports it will not be enough to rule him out of tomorrow’s match against Poland.
