US international midfield duo Tyler Adams and Yunus Musah have both marked themselves out as Inter targets with their performances at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that Nerazzurri Sporting Director Piero Ausilio scouted the pair in the US’s group stage matches against Wales and England and was very impressed with what he saw.

19-year-old Valencia midfielder Musah had already been a player on Inter’s radar.

The young midfielder has shown the versatility to cover different midfield roles, whilst his age means that there could be room for significant further development if he is brought in as a midfield reinforcement.

Inter are increasingly keen on Musah, and could make their move early to try and anticipate growing competition to sign him from Valencia.

The Valencia midfielder’s performances for the US national team have only confirmed the Nerazzurri’s interest, whilst Adams also shone for his national team.

The Leeds United midfielder had already been a player who Ausilio and Inter regarded highly.

The Nerazzurri Sporting Director was therefore watching the 23-year-old, who captains his country, closely alongside Musah in Qatar.

Adams played as the regista at the base of the US’s midfield, forming an effective trio in the engine room alongside Musah and Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie.

Adams had transferred to Leeds from RB Leipzig for €17 million and his value is unlikely to have dropped, so he could be a difficult objective for Inter, but the interest in him is certainly real.
