Inter would be unlikely to sign Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie due to his high wages as well as the fact that he would not be guaranteed a starting role in the team.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, who report that the 25-year-old former AC Milan midfielder would be unlikely to make the switch to the Nerazzurri despite some reported contacts.

Kessie could leave Barcelona in the coming transfer windows, with the Ivorian not happy with the amount playing time he’s received since joining the club in the summer.

Inter have been one of the clubs linked with the former Atalanta midfielder, possibly on loan.

However, the fact that Kessie earns €6.5 million net per season at Barcelona would present a major stumbling block.

This would make him one of the Nerazzurri’s highest earners.

Moreover, given the presence of all of Nicolo Barella, Marcelo Brozovic, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan already in the squad, there would hardly be a guarantee that Kessie would find significantly more playing time at Inter than he has been at Barcelona.
