Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram’s agent has told Inter that the 25-year-old has no plans of leaving his current club in the January transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Frenchman’s lack of interest in a January transfer was a key point that emerged in the Nerazzurri’s talks with his representatives.

Inter are trying to move fast to sign Thuram given the significant competition for his signature on the horizon.

The Nerazzurri met with Thuram’s representatives in Qatar to sound out the possibility of getting an agreement done early.

However, the 25-year-old’s representatives informed the Nerazzurri that Thuram plans to see out the rest of the current season at Gladbach and then make a decision about his future in the summer.

Inter had been considering a move for Thuram as early as January for a fee, in order to beat out the competition from Bayern Munich and teams in the Premier League in particular.

However, the player’s plan is to wait to make the move on a free transfer in June, and the Nerazzurri will have to contend with the competition of other clubs then.
