Chelsea are having some serious regrets over the decision to allow striker Romelu Lukaku to join Inter on loan during the current season.

This according to UK news outlet The Athletic, via FCInterNews, who report that the Premier League giants are feeling very doubtful that allowing the 29-year-old to return to the Nerazzurri on a paid loan deal was the right move on their part.

Chelsea decided to allow Lukaku to leave in the summer just one year after signing him for a massive €115 million fee during the summer of 2021.

The paid loan deal with a €8 million fee plus performance-related add-ons was reflective of the fact that the player was pushing for a return to Inter, and had yet to find form in the Premier League throughout season.

However, the fact that Lukaku has not managed to make an impact at Inter this season due to injury is causing Chelsea to wonder whether they have made the right decision.
