Former Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia made his official retirement from football this season, deciding to hang up his boots after an injury ruled him out of playing for Monza.

The 34-year-old had only made the move to Monza in the summer, deciding to leave Inter after an adventure that lasted more than a decade.

Ranocchia still has a deep connection with the Nerazzurri, and was awarded a special honourary shirt by Vice-President Javier Zanetti in a ceremony this month.
