Juventus are likely out of the race to sign Inter-linked Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini due to the ongoing legal and financial problems that they face.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Il Giorno, via L’Interista, who report that the Nerazzurri could get a boost in their pursuit of the 19-year-old from the Bianconeri’s difficulties in moving for him, although his €25 million asking price remains an obstacle.

Inter have made Scalvini one of their major targets to reinforce their backline in both the immediate future and in the longer term.

A number of big clubs both in Serie A and around Europe are also keen on the Atalanta defender, however.

Juventus had looked to be one of the teams with the strongest interest in signing Scalvini, potentially hoping to wrap up a deal for him in the summer of 2024.

However, the Bianconeri’s legal and financial problems now make a move for Scalvini less likely, potentially opening the door for Inter.
