Inter are preparing to travel out to Malta for a training camp this week, as they work on returning to Serie A action in optimal condition in January.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Simone Inzaghi’s squad will fly out tomorrow and return to Italy on 9 December, with the week being devoted to working on fitness and tactics, whilst maintaining match fitness through a series of friendlies.

The Nerazzurri are set to take on local side Gzira United on Monday, before meeting Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg on 7 December.

Upon their return to Milan next week, Inter will then continue their fitness programmes whilst also playing a further three friendlies, with the aim being in peak condition for the visit of league leaders Napoli on 4 January in Serie A.

The Biscione will face Real Betis in Seville on 17 December, before Inzaghi comes up against brother Filippo and his Reggina side on 22 December, in Reggio Calabria.

Inter will round off their World Cup break with a clash against fellow Serie A club Sassuolo on 29th December, before returning to competitive action at the turn of the year.
