After catching the eye at the World Cup for the Netherlands, Inter are ready to increase their demands for wingback Denzel Dumfries amidst interest from Chelsea.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Tuttosport, the former PSV Eindhoven player’s stunning display in the 3-1 win over the USA yesterday has only increased the interest in him, with Premier League club Chelsea leading the way in chasing him.

Dumfries registered two assists and netted the third goal as the Oranje booked a place in the quarter-final of the tournament in Qatar, and Inter have seen an opportunity to extract a larger transfer fee should they decide to sell him.

It is reported that CEO Beppe Marotta would like to repeat the deal that saw Achraf Hakimi join Paris Saint-Germain for €68 million in 2021, and he is optimistic that Dumfries’ stellar displays will prompt Chelsea to meet that price.

Prior to the World Cup, it is believed that Inter would have been willing to sell for closer to €40m, but this price has now been upped and Chelsea are likely to come back in for the 26-year-old in the summer.
