Inter forward Joaquin Correa is currently at the team’s training centre in Milan working on getting back to full fitness ahead of the return of the Serie A season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 28-year-old will remain behind to work on a personal recovery program whilst his teammates are on a training retreat in Malta.

Inter’s squad are currently in Malta on a training retreat, with only those players either at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, returning from the tournament, or dealing with injury absent.

Wingback Matteo Darmian and defender Danilo D’Ambrosio are both among the players staying behind to recover from injury.

Forward Correa is another, with the Argentina having been forced to drop out of his national team’s squad at the World Cup due to a problem with his Achilles tendon.

The 28-year-old is currently working towards a full recovery and match-fitness back in Milan.
