Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic will be part of the Croatian national team’s starting eleven for this afternoon’s World Cup round of sixteen match against Japan.
This is confirmed by an official announcement by the Croatian FA listing the entire starting eleven for the knockout clash in Qatar.
Brozovic had already started all three of Croatia’s group stage matches at the World Cup, against the likes of Morocco, Canada, and Belgium.
The 30-year-old helped the Croats secure progression to the knockouts of the competition, where they will hope that they can make a similar impact to the 2018 edition of the tournament in Russie where they reached the final.
As expected, Brozovic holds down his spot in Croatia’s midfield trio, where he is a key man at the base of midfield just as he is for his club.
Brozovic and his teammates will face Japan for a place in the quarterfinals of the tournament, where they would meet one of Brazil or South Korea.
