Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is pushing to make the loan move of Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi permanent next summer, although the Nerazzurri will want a discount on the fee to sign him.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri coach trusts Acerbi and is keen to secure his future, although the €4 million purchase clause could be an obstacle to bringing him in.

Acerbi is currently only at Inter on loan from Lazio, having arrived on a one-season loan deal on the final day of the summer transfer window.

Nerazzurri coach Inzaghi had pushed for the signing of the former Sassuolo defender, who he rates highly after having worked with him for three seasons whilst in charge of the Biancocelesti.

Inzaghi’s trust in Acerbi has only been confirmed by what he’s seen working with him over the past few months.

Accordingly, the coach is hoping that the Nerazzurri can sign the 34-year-old permanently next June.

However, the purchase clause in the loan deal is for €4 million, and Inter would consider this to be too steep, so a permanent signing would likely be contingent on negotiating a discount from Lazio.
