Inter are getting closer and closer to agreeing a contract extension with striker Edin Dzeko.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri are likely to agree a new one-year deal with the Bosnian containing the option of a further season.

Dzeko’s current contract with Inter runs out at the end of June 2023.

Teams in MLS are keen on signing the 36-year-old, although it looks as though they will have to wait before his adventure in European football ends.

Dzeko’s performances this season have convinced Inter that they should extend the former Roma, Manchester City, and Wolfsburg striker’s contract.

For the player’s part, Dzeko would like a new two-year contract.

Inter, meanwhile, have been aiming for a new one-year deal.

The parties are likely to split the difference, with the Nerazzurri ready to offer Dzeko a one-year contract extension with the option of a further season.

According to the Gazzetta, Inter and Dzeko are close to an agreement.
