Inter have decided that they will sell wingback Denzel Dumfries, with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur the two teams most interested in his signature.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri have decided on the Dutchman as the player who will be “sacrificed” in order to meet financial targets.

It is no secret that Inter are expected to make a big name sale before the end of the current fiscal year, by the end of June 2023.

The identity of the player to be sold has not been clear.

However, the uptick in Dumfries’s value on the back of his form at the World Cup in Qatar looks to have made the 26-year-old a prime candidate.

According to the Corriere, Inter’s mind is now made up, and they plan to cash in on the former PSV wingback, possibly even as early as the January transfer window.

Chelsea had already been keen on Dumfries’s signature during the summer and their interest has not gone away.

Meanwhile, Tottenham coach Antonio Conte is also an admirer of the Dutchman, and so Spurs would be the other team most keen on signing him.
