Inter are hoping that defender Milan Skriniar will green light their standing contract extension offer by the end of 2022.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri have put forward an offer that brings the Slovakian roughly level with Marcelo Brozovic and Lautaro Martinez for earnings, and that they are hoping for a positive response in the coming weeks.

Contract negotiations between Inter and Skriniar have slowed down somewhat after having made significant progress towards the end of October and in the early part of November.

The 27-year-old is back in training with the rest of the squad now, however.

Inter are aiming to get the contract talks wrapped up as soon as possible and secure Skriniar’s future.

Now, the club are awaiting the former Sampdoria defender’s response.

The club feel that they have made an offer that is essentially adequate to put pen to paper on a new deal with the defender, and are hoping that they can get the response they want before January begins.
