Roma defender Chris Smalling is flattered by the transfer interest from clubs like Inter, but also considering whether he will extend his contract with the Giallorossi.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 33-year-old’s future in the Italian capital as he considers the possibility of either renewing with Roma or leaving for another club on a free transfer.

According to the Corriere, Smalling is happy at Roma, where he has found a career renaissance after the Giallorossi put their faith in him amid a period of declining form at Manchester United.

The newspaper reports that the Englishman would like to extend his contract with Roma given that he is grateful to the club and feels that he would not be unhappy seeing out his career in the Italian capital.

However, the player and his representatives have also received interest from some of Serie A’s biggest clubs, with Inter among the keenest on a free transfer.

Accordingly, Smalling is flattered by the fact that at 33 years of age he is a target for the Nerazzurri, and is tempted by the possibility of playing in the Champions League next season as well.
