The future of wingback Denzel Dumfries at Inter will depend on whether or not the club is able to extend the contract of defender Milan Skriniar.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri are likely to sell the Dutchman in the event that they agree a new deal with Skriniar.

Skriniar had been the big name strongly linked with a sale in the summer at Inter, but in the end stayed rather than transferring to Paris Saint-Germain for a big fee.

Now, given that the Slovakian’s contract is set to expire at the end of June 2023, the Nerazzurri’s sole objective has become to extend his deal.

Should Inter and Skriniar not be able to agree a new contract, then the club could cash in for a fee, although not at close to the €80 million asking price that they had placed on him in the summer.

However, in the event that Inter are successful in extending Skriniar’s contract, then Dumfries would be by far the likeliest high-value player in the Nerazzurri’s squad to be sold.
