Inter wingback Denzel Dumfriews will start for the Dutch national team in their World Cup quarterfinal clash with Argentina this evening.
This is confirmed in an announcement of the starting eleven by the Dutch FA, which includes the 26-year-old Nerazzurri player on the right flank.
Dumfries has started in each of the Netherlands’ matches so far at the World Cup.
The 26-year-old started in all three of the Oranje’s group stage matches, against Senegal, Ecuador, and Qatar, failing to get a goal or assist.
In the round of sixteen, the Inter wingback found his best form, putting in a standout display to score one and assist the other two of the Netherlands’ goals in a 3-1 win over the US.
Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal has once again selected Dumfries in the starting eleven against Argentina.
The complete Dutch starting eleven is as follows:
Netherlands (3-4-1-2): Noppert; Timber, Van Dijk, Ake; Dumfries, De Roon, De Jong, Blind; Bergwijn; Gakpo, Depay.
