Inter are keeping tabs on Rennes’ left wingback Adrien Truffert as they seek an addition in January, but are not ready to meet the French club’s asking price.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri are in the market for a wide player to operate on the left flank and offer competition to Federico Dimarco, with Robin Gosens out of favour and unlikely to remain at the club.

The Nerazzurri have been monitoring numerous left-sided wingbacks and are particularly impressed with Truffert, but are not willing to part with the €20 million Rennes are demanding for him in January.

Inter have not given up hope of signing the France international, but it will take some significant negotiating to bring the asking price down, or to secure him on an initial loan with a view to buying him at a later date.

Truffert, 21, has made 96 appearances for Rennes since breaking through in 2020, scoring four goals.
