Hellas Verona defender Josh Doig has emerged as a target for transfer for Inter, but he is ready to remain at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere di Verona, the Scottish defender has caught the eye of a number of clubs after impressing in his first season in Italian football, and Inter are one of his suitors.

The Nerazzurri are joined by Napoli, Roma, Lazio, and Bologna in tracking him, but Verona are reluctant to sell him so soon after bringing him in from Scottish Premier League club Hibernian.

Meanwhile, Doig himself is also not believed to be eager to make the move, with the 20-year-old making clear his intentions to see out the season with the Gialloblu.

Doig, a Scotland U-21 international, has made nine appearances in Serie A for Verona this season, scoring twice.

The former Queens Park loanee has also earned a call-up to Scotland’s senior squad, but is yet to make his debut.
