Inter midfielder Kristjan Asllani will remain at the club and fight for a place in the starting line-up in the second half of the season, despite the return of Marcelo Brozovic.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the summer signing from Empoli is determined to prove himself at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza and has no intention of leaving, despite failing to break through so far this season.

It had been suggested that Asllani could be sent out on loan in January for regular first-team football, particularly as Brozovic has recovered from injury and will likely provide a further block to coach Simone Inzaghi’s midfield.

However, the Albania international believes that he can force his way in and will look to take advantage of any opportunities in Serie A and the Coppa Italia to stake a claim.

The 20-year-old, currently on loan from Empoli, is a boyhood Inter fan and has made it his ambition to establish himself with the Nerazzurri, whilst the club also believe that he can do this after the winter break.
