Former Inter coach Antonio Conte is keen to work with Nerazzurri defender Stefan De Vrij again and wants Tottenham Hotspur to make an approach.

According to British outlet Football Insider, the Lilywhites are ready to make a move for Netherlands international De Vrij at the behest of coach Conte, with the former Nerazzurri tactician determined to bring him to London.

De Vrij is approaching the final six months of his contract at Inter and would be available on a free transfer from next July, but Spurs could even make an offer in January to buy him and fend off any potential competition at the end of the season.

The former Lazio defender has fallen down the pecking order under Simone Inzaghi this season and his future at Inter is uncertain, with no progress made on a contract renewal.

It is also reported that the 30-year-old has attracted interest from Spanish club Atletico Madrid, and Conte is urging Spurs to move swiftly to reunite with his former defender.
