Former AC Milan midfielder Zvominir Boban feels that Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic had shown incredible energy with his performances in midfield for Croatia at the World Cup.

Speaking to Croatian news outlet Sportske Novosti, via FCInterNews, the Croat hailed the 30-year-old Nerazzurri midfielder’s tireless performances pulling the strings through the knockout rounds in Qatar.

Brozovic started all three of Croatia’s group stage matches against the likes of Morocco, Belgium, and Canada, whilst he has also played nearly all of two extra time clashes with Japan and Brazil.

This is especially impressive in view of the fact that the Nerazzurri midfielder plays one of the most physically demanding roles on the pitch, for both his club and country.

Brozovic has to run constantly, both to make himself available as an option when his team are in possession, and to cut out opposition passing lanes and be ready to make challenges during the defensive phase.

“I’d be repeating myself, but I have to point out the tirelessness of Marcelo Brozovic, and the devastating form of Ivan Perisic,” Boban said.
