Inter centre-back Francesco Acerbi is determined to remain with the club at the end of his loan spell and feels that they owe him a permanent move from Lazio, according to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla.

The Italy international completed a loan deal in late August with a view to outright move for an agreed fee of €3.5 million, but Pedulla suggested that whilst Inter were hoping to negotiate this down, he still expected them to swoop for Acerbi, as reported by FCInter1908.it.

Pedulla highlighted the relatively low cost of buying Acerbi, despite him approaching his 35th birthday, and the impact he has had in coach Simone Inzaghi’s three-man defensive system this season.

Meanwhile, the former Sassuolo defender believes that Inter owe him the permanent deal after he took a risk to hold out for them to sign him last summer.

Acerbi waited until the final days of the transfer window and was ready to do everything he could to push through the move, and so the €3.5m would be viewed as compensation for his patience.
