Inter could offer midfielder Giovanni Fabbian to Atalanta as part of payment for defender Giorgio Scalvini next summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 19-year-old could either be back in the Nerazzurri’s first team next season, or part of a cash-plus-player offer for Scalvini.

Fabbian’s form on loan with Reggina means that it may not be long before he makes the step up to Serie A.

Where the 19-year-old goes next season remains very much an open question, but he could prove to be a useful player to the Nerazzurri one way or the other.

On the one hand, Fabbian could be brought back to add depth to the Inter first team’s midfield, as his form already suggests that he could be of sufficient quality.

Another possibility would be that the 19-year-old would be included in an offer for Scalvini.

It is expected that Inter will make an effort to sign the 19-year-old defender from Atalanta, and given that he will not come cheap, the inclusion of Fabbian in an offer could be one way to make a deal within reach for the Nerazzurri financially.
