Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid are both keen to sign Inter defender Stefan de Vrij, who has yet to make a decision on whether to extend his contract with the Nerazzurri.

This according to Italian news outlet L’Interista, who report that the 30-year-old has already received Inter’s offer, but has not yet responded amid transfer interest from some European heavyweights.

Inter have already offered a new contract to de Vrij, but it would not be at more than the €4 million net per season that he currently earns.

The Dutchman, formerly of Lazio and Feyenoord, is hoping for an increased salary on what is likely to be the final major contract of his career.

Accordingly, as of yet de Vrij has not given a positive to the Nerazzurri’s offer, and it will remain to be seen if the parties can come together on an agreement.

In the meantime, Tottenham and Atletico look to be two of the clubs with the strongest interest in signing de Vrij on a free transfer should he not extend his contract with Inter.
