Hungarian national team head coach Marco Rossi feels that Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella is one of the top players in his position at the moment.
Speaking to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, the coach lauded the Nerazzurri midfielder with praise, arguing that the 25-year-old has few equals in world football right now.
Barella has only grown in reputation since joining Inter from Cagliari during the summer transfer window of 2019.
The 25-year-old is now a key player for both his club and for the Italian national team, who did not qualify for the World Cup in Qatar but who won the Euros last summer.
During his time with Inter, the former Cagliari midfielder has refined his playing style, adding more goalscoring and creativity to his game.
For his part, Rossi feels that Barella is one of the outstanding players within the Italian national team at the moment, and also one of the best in his position in the world.
“I think Italy has really good players in every position,” the coach argued. “For example, Nicolo Barella is one of the best midfielders around right now.”
