Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin has revealed that there is a significant gap between the contract extension offered to Milan Skriniar and what the defender has been offered by Paris Saint-Germain.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Radio Sportiva, via L’Interista, the journalist explained that the next few days will be decisive in contract negotiations between Skriniar and Inter, and noted the discrepancy between the offers from the Nerazzurri and PSG.

If Skriniar is aiming to earn the highest possible wages, then there is little chance of Inter being able to compete with PSG for his signature.

It had been reported throughout the summer that the Parisians would be ready to significantly increase the Slovakian’s earnings if he were to sign for them, and they would still be willing to do so.

Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri are reportedly ready to offer a pay increase to the Slovakian to extend his deal, but as Biasin stressed, their offer will not come very close to the offer that PSG would make.

“These are now the decisive days regarding the situation with Skriniar’s contract extension situation,” Biasin explained.

“Inter always said they wanted to wait for the period between Christmas and the end of the year to have a definitive answer.”

“They want yes or a no, given that the player and his representatives already have their offer in hand,” he noted.

“€6 million net per season plus add-ons, four or five seasons at the discretion of the player.”

“This is the offer that Inter can make, which is not remotely close to that from PSG which exceeds €9 million net per season.”

“If the Slovak is first and foremost concerned with his earnings, then there’s no question that he’ll go to PSG,” the journalist was unequivocal.

“If, on the other hand, he thinks that the captain’s armband and staying at the club where he’s grown are what he wants, then he’ll stay.”

“The Nerazzurri are waiting for an answer,” Biasin explained, “and then if it’s yes, they’ll all be happy, and if not then Marotta and Ausilio will have to start thinking about how they’ll replace him starting next season.”
