Croatian national team head coach Zlatko Dalic has provided an update on the condition of midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.

Speaking in a press conference, as reported by FCInterNews, the coach explained that the rest for the Nerazzurri midfielder being substituted off during yesterday’s semifinal match against Argentina was discomfort in his thigh muscles, and that he will not play on Saturday if he’s not fit.

Brozovic was substituted off during the second half of Croatia’s semifinal match against Argentina at the World Cup yesterday.

It was not immediately obvious why this was the case and whether the Nerazzurri midfielder was injured, although a report today stated that he was undergoing medical tests.

Croatia coach Dalic had already explained yesterday that Brozovic was taken off as a precaution, and he further elaborated today that the 30-year-old had felt some thigh pain, although he did not give more information about the nature or severity of an injury.

“He felt pain in his thigh muscle,” the coach said, “we’ll see what happens.”

“We need all the players we can use for Saturday, but those who don’t feel fit won’t play,” he continued.
