Inter midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan feels that the important thing for him is to help the team in whatever way he can, regardless of his position on the pitch.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, the Armenian stressed that he is not too concerned with his role in the team’s formation, so long as he can contribute to success on the pitch.

It was no secret when Inter signed Mkhitaryan from Rome over the summer that the 33-year-old is a versatile player.

The Armenian has shown throughout his career that he can play in attacking positions, out wide, and anywhere in midfield from a box-to-box role to a deeper position.

So far this season, this versatility has once again emerged from Mkhitaryan at Inter.

The 33-year-old has played a number of matches as a box-to-box midfielder in a trio, where he has carved out a regular starting position for himself.

However, the former Giallorossi, Manchester United, and Borussia Dortmund player has also been tested in a second striker position, where he can add depth and quality to the team’s attack just as he has done in central areas.

Asked about how he feels playing the second striker position, Mkhitaryan replied that “The important thing for me is that I play, it doesn’t matter where, and to play as many minutes as I can so I can help us achieve our goals.”

“My goal is to help the team,” the 33-year-old added, “and to do everything I can to make myself available to my teammates on the pitch and off it.”
