Napoli striker Victor Osimhen feels that he has done well to come back to form after the serious skull fracture that he sustained in a collision with Inter defender Milan Skriniar last season.

Speaking to Nigerian broadcaster Omasports, via FCInterNews, the 23-year-old looked back on the clash of heads with the Nerazzurri defender which had potentially endangered his life.

Osimhen had to come off the pitch with a clear injury after a nasty clash of heads that took place during the second half of the Serie A meeting between Inter and Napoli at the San Siro last November.

It was immediately clear that the injury would be a major problem for the Nigerian, although the exact severity and what it would take to come back from it were less certain.

In the end, the striker managed to get past the setback relatively quickly, and this season he is one of the players leading a title charge for the Partenopei who are currently top of the Serie A table.

Osimhen noted that “I’m playing for one of the biggest clubs in Europe, and in one of the best leagues in Europe, I’ve been named ‘Young Player of the Year’ and achieved many personal goals.”

“It wasn’t easy when you consider that I really risked my life with that injury,” he noted, referring to the clash with Skriniar.

“Yet I came back better than before.”

“For this I have to say thank God.”
