Tottenham Hotspur wingback Emerson Royal would be a more likely replacement for Denzel Dumfries at Inter than a shock return of Achraf Hakimi from Paris Saint-Germain.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that bringing Hakimi back would be a “dream” but likely not anywhere near as realistic as a move for Tottenham’s Royal.

Dumfries has been the name most strongly linked with a big name sale from Inter in the past few weeks, whilst reports have emerged concurrently that Hakimi could be keen on making a return.

This has led to some speculation that the Moroccan could well make the return to replace the player who had replaced him to begin with.

However, the Corriere notes that the fee involved in any deal for Hakimi would almost certainly make a return infeasible at this stage, as PSG would hardly want to allow him to leave.

Meanwhile, Royal is increasingly out of favour under Tottenham coach Antonio Conte according to the Corriere, whilst the Brazilian could even be part of a deal for Dumfries given that Spurs are also keen on Dumfries.
