Inter are closely monitoring Atalanta centre-back Giorgio Scalvini but could face serious competition from across Europe, with interest in him from the Premier League and the Bundesliga.

Writing in his editorial for Tuttomercatoweb.com, Italian journalist Niccolo Ceccarini suggested that the teenager had appeared on the radars of English rivals Liverpool and Manchester City, whilst German champions Bayern Munich were also keeping a close eye on him.

Inter have been tracking Scalvini for some time and reported to be determined to land him, with a view to bringing him to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza next summer.

However, with such fierce competition it is expected to be a difficult fight, with CEO Beppe Marotta ready to battle to secure the Italian international.

Scalvini has already established himself in La Dea’s first team and made 32 senior appearances for the club, whilst he was handed a call-up to the Italian national team by coach Roberto Mancini in November.

Indeed, the towering defender has already earned three caps for the Azzurri.
