Former Inter head coach Andrea Stramaccioni feels that Inter striker Lautaro Martinez and Roma forward Paulo Dybala added a touch of Serie A to the World Cup final between Argentina and France yesterday.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Radio Anch’Io Lo Sport, via FCInterNews, the coach expressed his happiness to have seen players from the Italian top flight represented in international football’s biggest match.

Inter striker Martinez made sure that the Nerazzurri’s streak of having a player in the World Cup final in every edition of the tournament since 1982 continued.

Meanwhile, Roma and former Juventus former Dybala also came on as a substitute for the Albiceleste as Martinez did, and added another touch of Serie A to proceedings.

French midfielder Adrien Rabiot also represented Juventus in the match, whilst AC Milan left-back Theo Hernandez also started, albeit both on the losing side for France.

Stramaccioni gave the view that “It was good to see a little bit of Serie A in the match,” when asked about the presence of Martinez and Dybala for the Albiceleste.

“They added a bit of spice to things,” ha added.
