Inter Vice-President Javier Zanetti feels that striker Lautaro Martinez is highly motivated to try and build on his success at the World Cup with Argentina over the rest of the season with the Nerazzurri.

Speaking to Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore, via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri Vice-President emphasized that the team are getting fired up to approach the rest of the season after the return from the break, which promises to be decisive.

Inter striker Martinez finished the World Cup in Qatar on a high note, helping Argentina to win the tournament for the first time in 36 years.

Now, the 25-year-old striker will return to his club where there is still plenty to play for and make his season even more memorable.

The Nerazzurri are playing catch-up in the league, but still have belief that they can make up the gap on league leaders Napoli, and then there are the Coppa Italia, the Supercoppa Italiana, and the Champions League to play for.

Of Martinez’s mood after the World Cup, Zanetti said that “He’s very fired up, and ready for the second part of the season which will be decisive.”

The Vice-President added that “We’re preparing for the return as best we can, we’re working hard.”

“Coming back in it will be tough, but we have the kind of quality that means that we have to try,” he said.
