Inter wingback Denzel Dumfries is among the players to have seen their value skyrocket thanks to their exploits at the World Cup in Qatar.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who note that the Nerazzurri are likely to demand as much as €60 million for the Dutchman after his performances in Qatar.

Each time it is held, the World Cup is a showcase that sees the price tags of at least a few players go up significantly as they show their quality with the eyes of the world upon them.

This time around, it was Angers midfielder Azzedine Ounahi who arguably experienced the biggest jump in value.

The Ligue 1 club would be within their rights to demand €45 million for the 22-year-old after he played a starring role in the Moroccan national team’s run to the semifinals of the competition, according to the Corriere.

Meanwhile, RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol was always likely to command a big fee, but this could have risen above €100 million as the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Tottenham Hotspur join Chelsea in the race for the Croat who was arguably the outstanding defender in Qatar.

Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram also impressed as Inter, Napoli, Bayern Munich, and teams in the Premier League track him, although in the Frenchman’s case he will likely leave Gladbach on a free transfer next summer.

Inter wingback Dumfries is another player who looks to have experienced a similar boost in valuation in Qatar.

The 26-year-old has been a target for some time for teams including Chelsea and Manchester United.

After Dumfries starred in the Netherlands’ 3-1 round of sixteen win over the US, scoring one and assisting the other two of the Oranje’s goals, the price tag could have went up for the former PSV wingback.

According to the Corriere, the Nerazzurri are now likely to expect an offer in the region of €50-60 million from any of the Dutchman’s suitors as they consider his future.
