Online betting company LeoVegas could take the place of DigitalBits as Inter’s main shirt sponsor.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the company have emerged as a serious contender to be the Nerazzurri’s new sponsor, but only in the event that restrictions on betting company sponsors are lifted.

Inter’s search for a sponsor to replace DigitalBits is in full swing.

The cryptocurrency company’s logo may not appear on the front of the Nerazzurri’s matchday shirt for much longer, and according to Tuttosport could be gone already when the team face Napoli in their first Serie A match back on January 4.

Online betting company LeoVegas is already a company with which Inter have a commercial partnership.

Currently, there are longstanding rules in Italian football against betting companies being the main shirt sponsors for clubs, meaning that LeoVegas could not take the place of DigitalBits under current regulations.

However, the Italian FA is reportedly considering changing the rules, and if they were to do so soon, then LeoVegas would be a serious contender to be Inter’s new main shirt sponsor.
