Inter are targeting Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini as a possible replacement for Milan Skriniar in the event that they are unable to agree a contract extension with the Slovakian.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, who reported this afternoon via FCInterNews that the Nerazzurri are considering a move for the 19-year-old as a Plan B option should Skriniar decide not to extent his deal.

Right now, the priority at Inter is very much to agree a new contract with Skriniar.

However, given that as of yet the negotiations are still very much open as the 27-year-old hasn’t given his response to the club’s offer, they are also considering contingency plans.

In this respect, Scalvini represents an attractive target for the Nerazzurri should they prove unable to extend Skriniar’s deal.

In recent days, Inter have opened up talks with Atalanta and with Scalvini’s representatives towards negotiations on a possible transfer next summer.
