Inter are tracking the likes of Borussia Monchengladbach’s Yann Sommer, Boca Juniors’ Agustin Rossi, and Bournemouth’s Neto as possible replacements for captain Samir Handanovic if he departs next summer.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who reported this evening via FCInterNews that the Nerazzurri have lined up the trio as possible free transfer signings to take the place of Handanovic as a backup keeper to Andre Onana.

Handanovic’s current contract runs out at the end of June 2023, and it is not clear whether or not the 38-year-old will agree a new deal.

The Slovenian has decisively become Onana’s backup this season, and so if he is to leave the club next summer, a replacement will be sought specifically for the purpose of backing up the Cameroonian.

In this respect, Sommer is a name that has already been linked with the Nerazzurri.

The 33-year-old Swiss international would be available on a free transfer next summer, although Inter will have the competition of Bayern Munich and Manchester United to contend with for his signature.

Meanwhile, Boca Juniors keeper Rossi is another goalkeeper whose contract runs out at the end of June 2023, and the Nerazzurri are monitoring the 27-year-old.

Lastly, experienced Brazilian keeper Neto, formerly of Fiorentina, Juventus, Valencia, and Barcelona, is currently playing in the Premier League for Bournemouth.

The 33-year-old’s current deal with the Premier League side runs out at the end of June 2023, and he could be considered a reliable option to back up Onana starting next season.
