Inter President Steven Zhang has set the target of being among the top eight teams in European football for the club in 2023.
Speaking at the club’s Christmas party, as reported by FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri President outlined what his ambitions are as the club look towards a new year.
Inter are in the Champions League round of sixteen for the second season in a row, where they will face Porto in February and March.
The Nerazzurri will be hoping that they can do at least one better than last time around, when they were eliminated at this stage by Liverpool.
If Inter can reach the quarterfinals of Europe’s top club competition, it would represent a return to being one of only a handful of teams left in the tournament.
Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri will still hope that they can come back in the Serie A title race, whilst the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana represent other opportunities to win trophies.
“We’ve lifted three trophies, we’ve reached the round of sixteen in the Champions League for two seasons in a row,” Zhang said.
“This has been achieved thanks to the work that everyone has done.”
“Inter must always have the goal of winning, and this will obviously also be the case in 2023, when we want to be one of the top eight teams in Europe,” the President continued.
