Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto has become the likeliest candidate for Inter to sign to replace Samir Handanovic if the captain leaves, as Yann Sommer looks set to join Bayern Munich.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri have fully turned their attention to the Brazilian as Bayern are close to signing Sommer for a fee in January.
Sommer had been among the Nerazzurri’s possible targets to replace Handanovic in June considering the Swiss international would be available on a free transfer next summer.
However, according to Tuttosport, Bayern aren’t going to wait that long to snap the Gladbach keeper up, as they are prepared to pay a fee to sign him in the January transfer window, to fill in for injured captain Manuel Neuer.
This takes the 33-year-old out of the picture for Inter.
Accordingly, the Nerazzurri are keen on signing former Fiorentina, Juventus, Valencia, and Barcelona on a free transfer if Handanovic does not agree a contract extension.
